Abalone

Light never sits still on abalone. The shell's interior layer of nacre, built up in microscopic sheets by a marine mollusk, shifts through turquoise, blue, green, violet, pink, and silver as you turn it.

This collection uses our select grade, chosen for exceptional iridescence, strong color, and clean, luminous patterning. Abalone has been treasured by Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Coast for thousands of years, in jewelry, trade, ceremonial regalia, and inlay. No two finished pieces reflect light the same way.
